Popcorn Show N Sell Slots Still Open

Posted on Sep 16 2021 - 9:29pm

The Pack only has one big fundraiser for the year and this is it. We are calling on all scouts to sign up for Show N Sell shifts now. We are asking each family to sign up for at least one shift. Remember our goal this year is to sell $12,000. That money goes to fund our campouts, Pinewood Derby, and other activities throughout the year. To sign up, create an account on https://www.trails-end.com/, and go to Storefront sales. There are plenty of shifts still open over the weekends of 9/18 and 9/25. Please sign up by NOON Friday Sep 17th if you intend to sell this coming weekend. Additionally please sign up by Wednesday Sep 22nd next week by NOON so we can make earlier decisions on releasing shifts to other Packs and Troops.

Please also remember you can use the Online Sales functionality on Trails-end to reach family and friends outside the Capital Council area. Additionally, we encourage all scouts to use the take-order forms and hit your neighbors as well.

Pack 162 Volunteers Needed

Posted on Sep 16 2021 - 9:24pm

Pack 162 is all-volunteer led. Our current Pack leadership will be aging out soon. If you are a Lion/Tiger/Wolf parent who plans to continue in the Pack next year, you need to volunteer for a Pack role. Not only will it help all scouts in the Pack, but you'll find the cub scout experience a lot more rewarding!

These volunteer positions require no prior experience. We will train you!

We need to fill the following positions soon:

  • Pack Committee Chair (incoming). Basically, a small project management position. Run the monthly Pack Committee meetings, coordinating activities of all other volunteers. BSA offers special training for this position and you'll have the opportunity to learn from the existing Pack Commmittee chair for a few months. Great for organized individuals who feel passionate about providing the best possible scouting experience for all of our families.
  • Pinewood Derby Chair (incoming). Organize our yearly Pinewood Derby event. Coordinate volunteers for communication, setup and takedown, and conducting the event. Great for an individual who loves the Pinewood Derby event.
  • Assistant Cubmaster. Assist the cubmaster in preparing and running the Pack meetings and other Pack-wide ceremonies. Great for an individual who has a lot of energy, loves being in front of a crowd of kids, and isn't afraid of a little embarassment.
  • Facebook Administrator. The Pack has a Facebook account. We need someone to administer it - adding events, adding people, etc.

Cub Scout In-Person Day Camp is Back!

Posted on May 8 2021 - 9:35am

Cub Scout Day Camp returns in-person this summer. There are currently five camps open for registration. Day Camp is a volunteer-run day or evening activity over three to five days but doesn't involve any overnight stays. This is a great chance to get your Cub Scouts back on track for advancement! It can also be an opportunity to actively engage new members of your pack whom you just recruited or are trying to recruit. For registration links, visit this page on our website: https://www.bsacac.org/activities/cub-scout-activities/cub-scout-day-cam...
